Learn to Calm Your Stress

An introductory One Day Workshop

If you are struggling with stress and anxiety and would like to spend a day learning to understand what’s happening in your system and to explore some resources to help yourself then this one day workshop is for you.

During this workshop you will learn about your nervous system and why your body and brain reacts as it does during stress experiences.  It will help you to normalise your experience and to understand yourself better.  During the day we will explore various skills and resources which will help you to take some charge of your experience of stress.  You will learn that not all resources work in the same way for everyone and will have the space to explore what works best for you.

The day is a combination of conceptual learning, reflective practice and guided resources where you will be facilitated by Valerie in a calm and safe space to find your own ways of helping yourself.  There is no right and wrong or one fits all solutions here.  There is only the truth of your own experience and learning to trust that.

Here at The Well Institute, we provide a safe and comfortable space in the idyllic surroundings of rolling hills and the Bandon river, just a short walk into beautiful Kinsale itself.  You will have access to the Reflective Garden for practice and quiet time. The main garden is available as a space for lunch (weather permitting) and we are located on a lovely country road for a lunchtime walk.  The space itself offers an opportunity to relax and find some healing in nature for the frazzled spirit

 

Learning intentions:

You will learn some skills and resources to help you to help yourself to settle and pause in the franticness of stress.

  • You will understand what we mean by the nervous system and why it is important for our overall well-being to be able to find our own unique balance.

  • You will have a better understanding of your own individual stress response and what it’s like to have permission to experiment to find your own resources to help yourself.

  • You will have some experience of what might be helpful for you and maybe some of what might not be helpful and the ok-ness of that. You will learn how to integrate your resources so you don’t have to find more “time” in your already busy day.
